He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to a rich man, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 Inscribed in Writs honoured, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 noble, pious. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
