The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
