Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5
God the Almighty always says the truth.
