The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And pollution shun. 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And children present [with him] 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as guardians of the Fire, and We have fixed their number (19) only as a trial for the disbelievers, in order that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may arrive at a certainty [that this Quran is the truth as it agrees with their Books i.e. their number (19) is written in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and the believers may increase in Faith (as this Quran is the truth) and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Scripture and the believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) and the disbelievers may say: "What Allah intends by this (curious) example?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind. 31
