Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
