The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
