۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 What, do we then not die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
