Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
