The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 will be easy, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
