He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 and in awe of God 9 you ignore him. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 to yield therein corn, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruit and grass - 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
