Whatever misfortune befalls you is a consequence of your own deeds. But much of it He forgives. 30 You cannot thwart Him on the earth, and have no friend or helper apart from Him. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 and if He wills, He stills the wind, and they remain motionless on its back. Surely in that are signs for every man enduring, thankful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whosoever helps himself after he has been wronged -- against them there is no way. 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 But he who bears with patience and forgives, surely complies with divine resolve. 43
