The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
