The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
