Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And cups put in place 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
