The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In gardens of delight; 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and banana trees, 29 And extended shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 on raised couches. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
