The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
