The Comet (Al-Taareq)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of spurting water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
