Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
