Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, 5 You will be shown hell 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). 8
