And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat of its fruit; yet it was not done by their hands. Then why do they not acknowledge thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 Neither can the sun overtake the moon, nor the night outpace the day: Each of them keeps coursing in its orbit. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
