Al-Dhaareyaat 2 of 3
Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: Lo! we are sent unto a guilty folk, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
