Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
