The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 Created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
