The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
