Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
