Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
