In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 But as a reminder unto him who feareth, 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 But We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
