۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 And say: "Are our aliha (gods) better or is he ['Iesa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. [(See VV. 21:97-101) - The Quran.] 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 He is certainly the sign of the Hour (of change). So have no doubt about it, and listen to me. This is the straight path. 61 And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 On that Day, [erstwhile] friends will be foes unto one another - [all] save the God-conscious. 67
