Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
