Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man, what seduced you from your munificent Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Honorable recorders, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous: will indeed be in bliss, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
