۞ Say those who look not to encounter Us, 'Why have the angels not been sent down on us, or why see we not our Lord?' Waxed proud they have within them, and become greatly disdainful. 21 On the day when they behold the angels, on that day there will be no good tidings for the guilty; and they will cry: A forbidding ban! 22 And We shall turn unto the work they did and make it scattered motes. 23 On that Day, the companions of Paradise (will have) a better abode and a finer restingplace. 24 On that Day, a cloud will appear rending the sky and the angels will be senthi down rank after rank. 25 true sovereignty on that Day will belong to the Gracious One, and it will be a hard Day for those who deny the truth. 26 And (remember) the Day when the Zalim (wrong-doer, oppressor, polytheist, etc.) will bite at his hands, he will say: "Oh! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger (Muhammad SAW). 27 O, woe to me! Would that I had not chosen so and so for a friend! 28 “He indeed led me astray from the advice that had come to me”; and Satan deserts man, leaving him unaided. 29 And the Apostle cried out: O my Lord! surely my people have treated this Quran as a forsaken thing. 30 Even so have We appointed unto every prophet an opponent from among the guilty; but Allah sufficeth for a Guide and Helper. 31 Those who deny the truth say, "Why was the Quran not sent down to him in a single revelation?" We sent it in this manner, so that We might strengthen your heart. We gave it to you in gradual revelation. 32 And (there is another wisdom in this: whenever they brought to you an odd thing (or a strange question), We sent its right answer to you in time and explained it all in the best manner, 33 Those who will be gathered into Gehenna (Hell) upon their faces shall be in the worst in place, and have gone further astray from the Path. 34
