Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then his wife drew near vociferating, and smote her face, and said: an old barren woman! 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
