Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
