Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Reality! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
