Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
