The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
