HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Stars (Al-Najm). Sent down in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
