The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And no trifle. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
