The pious ones will receive a beautiful Paradise from their Lord. 34 or should We, perchance, treat those who surrender themselves unto Us as [We would treat] those who remain lost in sin? 35 What is the matter with you? How ill do you judge! 36 Or have you a Book in which you read 37 That ye shall have, through it whatever ye choose? 38 Or you have oaths from Us, reaching to the Day of Resurrection that yours will be what you judge. 39 Ask them: "Which of you is able to vouch for this?" 40 Or have they any partners? Let them bring their partners then, if what they say is true. 41 On the day when the Shin* will be exposed and they will be called to prostrate themselves, they will be unable. (Used as a metaphor) 42 Their eyes will be cast down, ignominy will cover them; they used to be called to prostrate (offer prayers), while they were healthy and good (in the life of the world, but they did not). 43 So leave to Me those who reject this message. We shall lead them step by step to their ruin, in ways beyond their ken. 44 I shall give them respite, however, My plan is so strong that they will never be able to escape from it. 45 (Muhammad), do you ask for your preaching any recompense which is too heavy a price for them to pay? 46 Is the unseen within their grasp so that they write it down? 47 But wait thou for thy Lord's decree, and be not like him of the fish, who cried out in despair. 48 Were it not for his Lord’s favour that reached him, he would have surely been cast onto the desolate land, reproached. 49 Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous. 50 And the Unbelievers would almost trip thee up with their eyes when they hear the Message; and they say: "Surely he is possessed!" 51 [Be patient:] for this is nought else but a reminder [from God] to all mankind. 52
