Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
