The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book 1 A guidance and good news for the believers, 2 who pray regularly and pay obligatory alms and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 It is they for whom is the worst punishment, and they will be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 As for you, (O Muhammad), you are receiving the Qur'an from the Most Wise, the All-Knowing. 6 (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselves. 7 So, when he came to it, he was called: 'Blessed is he who is in the fire, and he who is about it. Glory be to God, the Lord of all Being! 8 [And God spoke thus:] "O Moses! Verily I alone am God, the Almighty, the Wise!" 9 Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, 10 as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. 11 "And put your hand into your bosom, it will come forth white without hurt. (These are) among the nine signs (you will take) to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people, they are a people who are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 12 But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said: 'This is plain sorcery.' 13 and they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, wrongfully and out of pride. Behold, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 14
