The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
