And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They said "So long as Moses does not come back we are not going to give it up, and we will remain devoted to it." 91 [Musa (Moses)] said: "O Harun (Aaron)! What stopped you when you saw them going astray; 92 So that you did not follow me? Did you then disobey my order? 93 Answered [Aaron]: "O my mother's son! Seize me not by my beard, nor by my head! Behold, I was afraid lest [on thy return] thou say, 'Thou hast caused a split among the children of Israel, and hast paid no heed to my bidding!" 94 Said [Moses]: "What, then, didst thou have in view, O Samaritan?" 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 Moses said, "Begone! It shall be your lot to say throughout your life, "Do not touch me," and you will be faced with a fate from which there will be no escape. Now look at your deity to which you have become so devoted: we shall burn it up, and then scatter it into the sea. 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whosoever turnoth away therefrom - verily they shall bear on the Day of Judgment a burthen, 100 As abiders therein. And vile will it be for them on the Day of Judgment as a load! 101 The day the trumpet blast is sounded We shall raise the sinners blind, 102 Whispering secretly among themselves, “You have not stayed on earth but for ten days.” 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
