Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
