Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
