Thamood cried lies to the Envoys 141 When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear God? 142 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you 143 so fear God and obey me. 144 I do not ask any recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 145 "Do you think that you will remain here peacefully forever 146 amidst [these] gardens and springs 147 "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? 148 hewing out houses in the mountains and taking pride in your skill? 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 And do not obey the order of the transgressors, 151 and spread mischief in the land rather than set things right." 152 They said: "You are only of those bewitched! 153 You are nothing but a man like us. Bring us a token if you speak the truth." 154 Saleh said: "Here is a she-camel. She has a right of drinking water, and you have a right of drinking it on appointed turns. 155 "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
