Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
