The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 weigh with an even balance 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Then make fragments of the heaven fall upon us, if thou art of the truthful. 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 But they cried him lies; then there seized them the chastisement of the Day of Shadow; assuredly it was the chastisement of a dreadful day. 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
