Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
