The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. 2 We showed him the Way: whether he be grateful or ungrateful (rests on his will). 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 (saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks, 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; 11 And shall recompense them for that which they patiently bare with a Garden and silken garment. 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 The shade thereof is close upon them and the clustered fruits thereof bow down. 14 Vessels of silver and goblets of pure crystal will be passed round among them 15 Clear glasses [made] from silver of which they have determined the measure. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 from a spring named salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. 22
